The new 20 Euros banknote incorporate an
innovative system , the portrait window, that has been implemented thanks to
the automatic Laser Punching System developed by Pasaban for the printing
security paper and other materials.
The new 20€ banknote
series appeared in the market to be in the hands of the consumers last 25th of
November 2015. This new series incorporates innovative security features to
protect them against counterfeiting. The most “visible” ones can be the
innovative portrait window, with the portrait hologram that can be transparent
when looking through it against a light, with “Europe” portrait in it.
Pasaban has
been cooperating deeply in finding solutions about the process of application
of these features into the new banknote. But apart from the application and
creation of the windows in the security printing machine, the most important
subject was also to link this application with the highest standards of
accuracy and precision positioning of the elements into the banknote and
applied during the security printing machine process. This was a real challenge
for Pasaban, which at the same time is one of the specialties of Pasaban
Technology.
In
order to match all the objectives, Pasaban used the latest laser technology
together with a hot stamping process giving as a result the highest precision
in the positioning of all security features into the 20€ new
note. “This new banknote of 20 Euros becomes
a milestone in the technology of the banknotes” as Mr. Carl-Ludwig Thiele
member of Deutsche Bundesbank Board said. Once again the trust placed in
Pasaban Company and its Technology level gave the expected results.
